Entities

Entities are the heart of your office.

What is an Entity?

Everything in Copia roles up to an entity. An entity can have sub-entities, and store documents. Building the entity map is usually the starting point when using Copia. For further understanding of the data model, check out this article.

The Entity Map

Entities appear throughout Copia, but the primary place you'll interact with them is the Entity Map. You can access the entity map from the Dashboard, in the "My Wealth" row.

Adding an Entity

By default, your accounts comes with one entity. This entity is known as the "root" entity, and all other entities roll up to it. It is represented in Copia as the name of your office. To create a new entity, go to the Entities page, and click "New Entity" in the bottom nav bar.

Fill in the details about the entity. Give it a name, type, and who it's owned by. In this example, the entity is owned 50% by the root entity and 20% by an LLC. Click save to finalize the Entity.
