Portfolio Value Lens

Your overall portfolio at a glance.

Within the Portfolio Value lens, you have visibility into the Portfolio Market Value compared to Net Investment for various time periods, as well as the income generated by the Portfolio.

The Value Tab

Portfolio Value LensIn the top right corner, you can see that the Value view has been selected. Additionally, in the top left, there is a comparison between the Market Value and the Net Investment value. This clearly indicates a positive return on the portfolio, which is further demonstrated by the graph below. The graph shows a significant gap between the blue line (Market Value) and the Gold Line (Net Investment).

Market Value = (Total Investment + Total Gain/Loss - Realized Amount)

Market Value is Copia’s representation of the approximated Market Value of an asset, defined as Total Investment plus Total Gain/Loss subtracted by Realized Amount.

Net Investment =  = (Total Invested Capital – Realized Amount(s))

Net Investment is Copia’s representation of the approximated net capital invested in an asset, defined as Total Invested Capital minus all Realized Amounts

There are a few things to keep in mind with Net Investment

1) It is important to note that the Net Investment can decrease over time due to transactions such as Income Distributions and Returns of Capital. This means that the Net Investment can potentially become negative.

2) The Net Investment view CAN be turned off should the Patron desire.

3) Transactions such as Buy, Capital Call, Transfer (In) will increase the Net Investment of an Asset.

The Income Tab

Portfolio Value lens (Income)

The graph allows us to choose different time frames, including monthly, to view income. For instance, if we select the "Last 12 months" option, we can see the income for each month over the past 12 months, including the current month.
