Copia supports the ingestion and tracking of K-1 documents. There are several systems which are connected in support of tracking K-1's
Overview
When creating a new asset, you can label it as K-1 eligible. When you do, the asset will show up in the K-1 tracker in the front office.
Watch for the "K-1 Tax Entry" toggle in the back office when creating new assets.
The Documents Tab
K-1's you upload will live alongside other documents in the Documents tab. When they are assigned as K-1s, they will automatically appear in the K-1 lens and be assigned to the appropriate asset.
Dashboard Lens Card
The K-1 lens lives in the "Documentation" section of the front office, near the bottom of the dashboard. All open assets that are toggled as K-1 eligible will show up in the lens. If an asset contains only closed holdings, it will no longer show up.
The K-1 Lens
- Year Picker. You can browse previous years, or upcoming years.
- Add K-1 documents. Upload new K-1 documents, and associate them with their appropriate holdings.
- K-1 Totals. The total rollup of all K-1s for a given year. Clicking the total row will take you to a summary of all K1 eligible assets.
- Individual K-1. Click a specific asset to see information extracted from the respective K-1.
Detail Views
Individual Asset View
Each asset can be explored individually. If a K-1 has already been uploaded, its data will be extracted and represented here digitally. Clicking the K-1 Document button in the top right corner will grant you access to the source file.
Annual Totals
The totals view will show an aggregate total across all K-1 eligible holdings for the year. Here you can see totals for several key data points. Clicking the K-1 Documents button in the top right allows you to download the relevant K-1 hard copies.
