View outflows and Inflows for various entities
Video Tutorial of the Balances & Flows Lens
The Balances & Flows lens provides a comprehensive view of the inflows and outflows associated with Entities in Copia. Since all assets are aggregated under an entity, this lens offers a clear snapshot of the financial movement—highlighting how much money is entering and leaving each entity within your office.
1. Entity: In essence, the Balances & Flows lens puts together your entities on one view
2. Period Start Date Value:This column displays the value attributed to each entity at the Period Start Date, determined by the chosen timeframe.
3. Net Cash Flow: The total dollar amount that has either entered or exited the Entity. This value is driven by transactions such as Buy,Sell, Dividends etc.
4. Net Gain/Loss: The overall change in value of all assets within the entity, reflecting both increases and decreases.
5. Latest Value: This column displays the current value of each entity as of today’s date.
6. Return: The Return is calculated by subtracting the Period Start Date Value from the latest balance, and then dividing the result by the Period Start Date Value.
7. Timeframe: You can choose from a range of timeframes to gain insights into the timing of cash inflows and outflows for your entities.
The difference between the Latest Value and the Period Start Date Value is comprised of two key components: the Net Cash Flow and the Net Gain/Loss. This means that the overall change in value from the beginning to the end of the period can be attributed to either cash inflows and outflows associated with the entity or the appreciation or depreciation of the assets that make up the entity.
